The unbeaten boxing champion Travell Mazion — known as “Black Magic”—was killed in a car accident in Austin on Wednesday, TMZ Sports reported.
He was just 24 years old.
The specifics of the accident are unclear — we’re working on it.
Mazion was 17-0 as a pro — most recently, in January, he beat Fernando Castaneda at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
It was an impressive :58 second victory for Mazion — who won the NABF 154 pound title in the process.
Travell was a brilliant man with immense potential. Once upon a time, he was backed by NFL star Von Miller.
Tributes are now flowing into the world of boxing.
Boxer Vergil Ortiz Jr. said, “I can’t believe that, R.I.P. Travell Mazion.”
“To those who don’t know him or have never met him, he was a very professional fighter and one of the best people I knew. He’s really loved watching him fight. Loving your dad, watch over us.
