Cuppy signs deal with Platoon for her debut album
On July 7, 2020, Nigerian DJ and artist, DJ Cuppy announced that her new album will be released through label services company, Platoon.
This comes a couple of weeks after being revealed on Apple Music as Africa Now’s new host. Her debut album, called Original Copy, is said to be ready for release and prepared. Platoon has increased its reach in African countries over the past three years by handing out advances to several acts in South Africa, Ghana , Nigeria and so forth.

Speaking with his Billboard in May 2020, Label CEO Denzyl Feigelson says, “I want artists to be able to handle their music on our platform; get resources such as education, legal and accounting; learn about publishing, touring, how to market; and conquer stuff like Twitter , Facebook, TikTok, Twitch because if I help them grow their company, it only helps us grow our company.
Platoon also provides resources such as free studio time; film, advertising and marketing funding; distribution; tour support; track pitching; and data and insights to artists from all digital service providers. It was purchased by Apple a few years ago.
