Damilola Adegboye, the immediate elder sister of Tolulope Arotile, the late first female combat helicopter pilot in the history of the Nigerian Air Force, has revealed that the family is not persuaded that Arotile died in a car accident.

The announcement was made in an interview with The PUNCH on Thursday, though seeking a detailed investigation of the cause of her death.

He said her family was shocked by an untimely death, asking how the reverse of a vehicle could destroy a person in this way.

Arotile is believed to have died as a result of head injuries suffered following a car hit by a former classmate at the NAF Base in Kaduna State.

Her son, said Adegboye;

“We in the family are not persuaded that Tolu can only die like that in a freak accident. I know that the army is well qualified in the art of investigation, we want them to carry out a comprehensive investigation that can persuade us beyond any doubt that the incident that led to her death was genuine.

She disclosed that on the day of the accident, Arotile and herself were in a room where she was sleeping, stressful;

A phone call she picked up, but from the way they talked, I knew the caller had to be a senior officer asking her to come to Air Force Base. She felt hesitant, so I decided to drop her off.

One hour later, I read on-line that something terrible had happened to her. I couldn’t believe that someone I just dropped is dead.

Also speaking, Arotile’s mother went down the memory lane about how she gave birth to her identifying her as a special girl, adding that her hobby was fasting and prayer.
